Story Trance Task (STT)¶
A Story Trance Task shows text to the subject one line at a time. To read the next line the subject presses the Yes button at the bottom of the screen. Lines accumulate on the screen as a running story until the last one has been shown, at which point the session completes.
Story tasks entrance by way of a reading flow state, one of the most common everyday forms of trance. Subjects quickly settle into a rhythm of reading each line, taking in the suggestion, and pressing Yes for the next one. The Yes button also trains agreement with each suggestion, much as a hypnotist builds nodding and agreeability into a script.
Content tab¶
- Lines
The lines of the story, shown top to bottom. Type a line and press Enter to add it.
Tip: because every line is agreed to with a button press, this is the ideal place to reinforce suggestions introduced in other sessions of the project.
Settings tab¶
This session type has no settings of its own. Optional features are available: Distractors, Wall Distractors, Audio and Custom CSS. If you add distractors or a background, the story text and the Yes button stay on top of them.
Custom CSS¶
The story lines are .container-item elements inside #display-content, and the
button is #anotherLine. See Custom CSS.
